BRIDGMAN — The 2018 Southwest Michigan’s Pre-Teen Scholarship Program and Southwest Michigan’s Princess Scholarship Program were held April 29 at the Bridgman High School Performing Arts Center.
The 2018 Southwest Michigan’s Princess, Recruitment Award, Photogenic Award, Talent Award went to Makenna Kate O’Donoghue, the daughter of Mark and Kimberly O’Donoghue of St. Joseph. She received $200 in scholarships.
Makenna, 8, is in the third grade at EP Clarke Elementary. She enjoys art, boating, tubing, swimming, dance, gymnastics and soccer. She has one sister, Kennedy.
Culver’s Give Back Night Fundraiser Salesmanship Award and Salute Ads Sales winner went to Ava Brielle Thomas of Benton Harbor.
People’s Choice Award went to Aleah Rose Vegter of Paw Paw.
Modeling Award went to Ireland C’iophia Emerald Tucker of South Haven.
The 2018 Southwest Michigan’s Pre-Teen and Modeling Award went to London Adrianne Jolynn Tucker, the daughter of Mike and Nichole Tucker of South Haven. She received $225 in scholarships.
London, 11, is in fifth grade at St. Paul Lutheran School in South Haven. She enjoys baking, cooking, gaming, volleyball, softball and cheer. She has four sisters, Halie, Ciara, Tyler and Ireland, and one brother, Cole.
Talent Award and Speech Award went to Camborley Starr Gleason of South Haven.
Photogenic Award and People’s Choice Award went to Hannah Elizabeth Marie Ferguson of St. Joseph.
Salute Ad Sales winner was Isabella Christina Swisher of Benton Harbor.
Also during the program, 2017 Southwest Michigan’s Princess Kendal Jane Kiefer presented a check for $1,328.26, which she raised through fundraisers during her year of service, to Beth Wild from Animal Aid.
The Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program’s focus is teaching the young people in Southwest Michigan leadership, community service, respect and honor. All scholarships go to Southwest Michigan residents.
