BENTON HARBOR - The Benton Harbor Area Schools district will replace between 40 and 50 members of its high school faculty and staff before the next school year as part of the district's turnaround plan for the struggling school.

Next week all the school's staff members - between 80 and 100 people - will be presented with pink slips, effective June 30, Superintendent Leonard Seawood said Friday. Half of them will be rehired, and the school district will replace those not rehired with new teachers and staff.

This what you get when politicians try to fix things. Kinda like war not goin well, fire the soldiers. Republicans tryin to break the union rather than fix the school.

Once again teachers are the fall guy for poor leadership at the top and a refusal to get at the root of the problem--poverty. So sad.

Benton Harbor school district is a big joke starting with Leanard Seawood on down. Who would want to work where you don't know from one school year to the next if you have a job. [sad]
