I hear all the conservatives and Tea Partiers in this area screaming all the time that the "country is broke" and it is the President's fault. Now we are in the midst of sequester because an agreement on the debt couldn't be reached yet we have people writing grant requests to the federal government for funds for projects like this as though this money magically comes from a source other than the federal treasury. Next time people want to blame the current administration about all the "spending" it does, they should remember that every town our size in the country makes these sorts of requests and it all contributes to the debt.
