MDOT drops plan for I-94 rest area
Watervliet Township officials say the Michigan Department of Transportation plans to make improvements to the westbound I-94 rest area, shown here. But the state has dropped plans to build a new rest area on eastbound I-94 directly south of the westbound rest area.

WATERVLIET - A controversial plan to build a rest area on eastbound I-94 in Watervliet Township has been quietly dropped by the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Township Supervisor Dan Hutchins recently updated the Township Board on the issue.
