BENTON TOWNSHIP - Whirlpool Corp.'s 2012 fourth-quarter net earnings fell to $122 million, compared with net earnings of $205 million in the fourth quarter of 2011, when earnings rose because of tax credits.
On an adjusted basis, excluding those tax credits and foreign currency exchange rates, fourth-quarter earnings per share were $2.29, compared with 32 cents per share during the same period last year. Net earnings for the year increased to $7.05 per share, compared with $2.05 per share for 2011.
