BENTON HARBOR — For the fifth time in a little over two years, Benton Harbor has issued a state-mandated public advisory about the higher-than-acceptable amount of lead in some of the city’s drinking water.
Water samples recently gathered in 66 homes found that 11 of them had lead levels of more than 15 parts per billion (ppb), the lead action level set by the state and federal government, according to a news release from the city.
