BENTON HARBOR — Benton Harbor commissioners will consider amending the city’s medical marijuana ordinance at a special meeting at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, to remove the requirement that dispensaries be at least 500 feet from houses of worship.

The proposed amendment couldn’t be put on the city commission’s Monday agenda because Commissioner Duane Seats opposed it on Wednesday during the city’s Personnel and Economic Development meeting, which he chairs. City commissioners require that items brought before the city commission be vetted and approved by city committees, first.
