BENTON HARBOR — The academic and financial operating plan to turn around the Benton Harbor school district was passed unanimously Tuesday by school board trustees and is on its way to the state for approval.

“We started this work in September of 2019 and the vision for this work was, simply put, to save our school system,” President Joseph Taylor said during the meeting, which was held virtually due to health concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. “So today we’re doing that. We’re on the right path. We’re creating a great platform for ... 21st century education for our youth.”
