BENTON HARBOR — A book showcasing the hopes and frustrations of more than 50 Benton Harbor middle and high school students in their own words was unveiled Wednesday during a virtual launch of “Our Side of the River ... the Real Deal.”

Aubrey Watters, a seventh-grade student at Fairplain Middle School, wrote about loving being the third oldest of seven children because her younger siblings look up to her. But she also wrote about the down side of having to share a bedroom with two of her sisters, which she read during the book launch.
