BERRIEN SPRINGS — A Berrien County judge has rejected a special use permit for a future Oronoko Township winery that would have prevented outdoor amplified music and mandated a 7 p.m. closing time.
Dan Nitz, owner of Chill Hill Winery and the largest wine grape grower in the state of Michigan, plans to move Chill Hill to a parcel on Hollywood Road – between Hinchman and Lemon Creek roads. The proposed business would expand from a winery to also be labeled as a brewery and distillery.
