BRIDGMAN — Indiana Michigan Power’s Cook Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 will begin its 26th refueling outage at 3 a.m. Saturday.

I&M spokesperson Bill Downey said power to the unit was reduced Wednesday to allow for equipment testing before the outage begins. The unit will have operated for 11,583 hours during its last cycle, at a capacity factor of 97 percent, generating more than 13.5 million megawatts of electricity.
