Restaurants struggle to fill vacancies, bristle at worker exodus

As more restaurants reopen while the pandemic drags on, a growing number of business owners are having difficulties filling open positions.

When their doors closed a second time in November, some restaurateurs have said their staff took jobs in another state. Others said former employees don’t want to come back to only be laid off again if the industry is shut down.
