Palisades Nuclear Plant decommissioning underway, despite application uncertainty

COVERT — Before entering Palisades Nuclear Power Plant’s turbine building, workers would have to put in ear plugs to avoid damaging their hearing.

The giant turbine and generator now sit quietly, as the Palisades employees, about a third of the former workforce, decommission the Covert Township plant.
