COVERT — Entergy Corp. officials permanently shut down the Palisades Power Plant on Friday, nearly two weeks ahead of schedule.
Entergy spokesperson Val Gent said control room operators made a conservative decision Friday to shut down the plant early due to the performance of a control rod drive seal. She said there was no danger to plant workers or the public, but the decision to shut it down for good was “prudent.”
