Water nearly covers South Haven’s bascule bridge’s red warning signs earlier this month. City leaders plan to raise the bridge’s motor cabinets by 1 to 2 feet this spring to ensure safe operation of hydraulic components that raise and lower the bridge’s roadway decks.
