Daniel Jackson spends much of his time focusing on soccer. The 2007 South Haven High School graduate earned all-state honors his senior year and now plays professionally for the United Soccer League’s South Georgia Tormenta team in Statesboro, Ga.

But the death of George Floyd prompted Jackson to focus on something different – systemic racism. Floyd’s May 25 death at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer while three other officers looked on sparked a national and international outcry.
