SOUTH HAVEN — An anticipated drop in school aid from the state has led to a decision by South Haven school officials to lay off six staff members and make an additional $150,000 in spending cuts for the coming school year.

Board of education members on Wednesday approved a budget for fiscal year 2020-21 that anticipates a loss of $783,500 in revenue from the 2019-20 budget, with an enrollment drop of 50 students.
