A classic wooden boat owner polishes his craft in preparation for displaying it at the Michigan Maritime Museum’s Classic and Antique Boat Show several years ago. This year, the museum is planning to resume hosting its annual show, which was canceled last year due to the pandemic.

SOUTH HAVEN — As more people receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, a sense of normalcy is slowly beginning to return to the South Haven area, and with that comes something else – summertime events.

Although organizers for several of the large-scale early summer events such as Harborfest and Light Up the Lake fireworks display canceled their activities earlier this year due to strict health regulations, promoters of other summer events are now forging ahead with their plans.
