SOUTH HAVEN — Third time’s the charm proved true for two South Haven High School students, who have been chosen as finalists in the annual National History Day competition.

Incoming juniors Nic Sheppard and Myles Daugherty placed seventh out of 99 entries in the Senior Division Individual Exhibit category, while also earning the Senior Division Outstanding Affiliate award, which designates their exhibit as best-in-the-state, according to a news release issued Monday by the Historical Society of Michigan.
