ST. JOSEPH — Berrien County officials want municipalities to sustain their ability to regulate short-term rentals, and are planning to make sure state lawmakers hear that, loud and clear.

For nearly two years, various bills – which would redirect the regulation to the state – have been bouncing back and forth in Michigan’s House and Senate, sometimes dying for lack of committee action.
