Beginning June 30, Amtrak and the Michigan Department of Transportation are restoring the daily Pere Marquette round-trip trains between Grand Rapids and Chicago. The service, which has several stops in Southwest Michigan, including Benton Harbor/St. Joseph and Bangor, was suspended March 21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the service resumes, however, customers will be required to wear masks and bookings will be required to be less than half the capacity of the trains to ensure social distancing.
