ST. JOSEPH — Allan Martin Jr. offered up a tearful apology Thursday in Berrien County Trial Court to the family of a man he killed decades ago in Benton Township.
“I feel horrible. I took a life. I destroyed a family. I’m sorry I took your father. He didn’t deserve it,” Martin told Brad Piedt, the son of Darrell Piedt, who also wept while sitting in the courtroom gallery. “I wish I could fix that.”
