ST. JOSEPH — Concerns about an Upton Middle School student being persuaded to get into a stranger’s car last week were “unfounded,” according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

St. Joseph Public Schools sent an email to families on Nov. 23, stating a man – who was in a blue Toyota Prius – attempted to draw an Upton Middle School student in his car in the area around Marquette Woods Road and Woodland Drive, as the student was going to the bus stop.
