ST. JOSEPH — St. Joseph officials recently learned the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing an emergency $500,000 to dredge the St. Joseph Harbor.

St. Joseph City Manager John Hodgson said that initially, no dredging was going to take place this year. But he said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers found a shoal in the St. Joseph River near the railroad bridge during the spring’s annual soundings.
