ST. JOSEPH — In an effort to provide all students with the same educational experience, the St. Joseph school district has launched a task force to take a closer look at racial equity practices.

The decision to form the task force comes after a couple years worth of work among teachers, students and administrators. The initiative was announced Monday during a school board meeting – on the heels of the St. Joseph City Commission’s decision to deny a proposal to allow a Black Lives Matter mural to be painted on a city street near St. Joseph High School.
