Crews work on Thursday to demolish the home at Hoyt Street and Niles Avenue in St. Joseph. The city had attempted to raze the building, known for the unsightly tarp draped over the damaged roof, for a number of years.

ST. JOSEPH — The dilapidated house in St. Joseph, known for the large tarp draped over its missing roof, was demolished Thursday – finally.

St. Joseph commissioners previously voted in favor of hiring B&Z Co. to take on the demolition project in April.
