Dr. Troy Thompson, who has a family practice in Stevensville, has recovered from the COVID-19 virus. In the aftermath, Thompson opened a temporary COVID-19 clinic for patients who don’t need hospitalization. He has also donated his plasma to help treat other COVID-19 patients.

STEVENSVILLE — Being one of the first health care providers in Berrien County to come down with COVID-19 in March was miserable – but educational – said Dr. Troy Thompson, of the Southwestern Medical Clinic in Stevensville.

“That was an interesting experience that I was able to study first-hand,” he said. “By God’s grace, it’s probably the best thing for a physician to have happen is to get a lot of misery so they can understand the disease and be compassionate to other people.”
