WATERVLIET — A Berrien County sheriff’s deputy gave an owl a better chance at life after it was hit by a car Friday in Watervliet Township.

Deputy Jerad Phillips from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car-versus-owl collision around 9 p.m. on M-140 in Watervliet Township, sheriff's Sgt. K. Higgs said in a news release.
