A concerned reader reached out this week asking me to write about something she says has come up often lately in conversations with friends: face masks.

“I’m sure the instructions have been online, but many of us are not online,” Connie Lind said. “And I know there have been some on television, but they run by so fast you don’t really get a good idea (of what to do). But it would be helpful if you could find someone who could give good instructions, and keeping in mind that right now we can not buy elastic that would be needed to keep them on our head.”
