Lauren Cook awarded Adam Tilly scholarship

STEVENSVILLE — A Lakeshore High School senior has been awarded the Adam Tilly Memorial Scholarship.

Lauren Cook, the daughter of Lynn and Joe Cook, was given the $2,500 scholarship. She will be attending Grand Valley State University and plans to earn her Bachelor of Science in nursing.

A second $1,500 scholarship in memory of Tilly was awarded to Morgan Moore, the daughter of Mary and Craig Moore.

Morgan will be attending Alvernia University. She will play hockey, and plans to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy.

The Adam Tilly Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding students who represent Tilly’s hard-working traits and integrity.

He was a 2001 graduate of Lakeshore High School and a 2005 graduate of Michigan Technological University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He died of cancer in 2006.
