Joanne Strebeck of Coloma sent me a recipe for baked beans submitted by Esther Wilkinson from the Casco Community Cookbook of Casco Township in Allegan County. According to Joanne, Esther was well known as one of the best cooks in the South Haven area. As for the cookbook, Joanne describes it as “full of easy, yummy recipes mostly from farm wives in the township.”
