Religion Insights columnist for The Herald-Palladium

In the spring of 1978, I traveled with my high school German Club to Munich for a week. It was my first time traveling overseas.

It was exhilarating to swim in the Olympic pool were Mark Spitz won seven gold medals; a thrill to visit Neuschwanstein, the castle that inspired the Disney World’s Cinderella Castle; and a mind-expanding, heart-rending experience to visit Dachau, a Nazi “work camp” during World War II.
