BERRIEN SPRINGS -- "Silver Needles, Golden Threads, An Exhibit of Needle Arts" will be shown Aug. 1 through Sept. 25 at the 1839 Courthouse Museum in Berrien Springs. This is one of a series of special exhibits throughout 1999 at the Museum featuring traditional Women's Home Arts. Admission is charged, but members of the Historical Association will be admitted free.
The exhibit is a joint production of the Berrien County Historical Association and the South Bend Michiana Embroiders' Guild of America and will explore four themes -- education, featuring historic and contemporary samples; ornamentation, with furniture household accessories and historic and contemporary clothing; celebration, highlighting articles used in times of joy and communal gatherings; and creation, original designs and adaptations of historic pieces.
Registration is now open for the Beginning Cross-stitch Class, a Five Hour Sampler Workshop and a Beginning Needlepoint Class. For more information, call 471-1202.
