The Buck Burgers & Brew in downtown St. Joseph remains closed due to the pandemic, as its owner maintains that opening at only 25 percent capacity doesn't make economic sense.

ST. JOSEPH — Berrien County restaurants are suffering as the state continues mandating capacity restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while Indiana restaurants just a few miles away are fully open.

That was the message from Arthur Havlicek, CEO and president of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, as he spoke to Berrien County commissioners Thursday.
