Historical award

Rhiannon Cizon, executive director of the History Center at Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs, created pioneer activity packets. Each packet contained four activities designed for students in first grade and up, including tin art, stencil art, and homemade butter and johnny cake recipes. The Berrien County Historical Association received an award for its efforts to reach out to patrons during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

BERRIEN SPRINGS — Efforts by the Berrien County Historical Association to keep history alive during the COVID-19 pandemic have not gone unnoticed.

The Michigan Museum Association recently announced that the BCHA is one of five institutions selected for the PIVOT! Award, which was given to museums that changed and adapted due to the pandemic.
