Lakeshore High School senior Isabella Najera celebrates out of her car’s window during a graduation parade last May at Lakeshore High School in Stevensville. School officials had decided to honor the graduating seniors with the parade due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Graduation ceremonies were planned at the beginning of the school year, but many changed throughout the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the state announced a rollback of several restrictions for outdoor gatherings in early May, Southwest Michigan school districts began altering their graduation ceremonies once again.
