BARODA — After opening toward the end of November, the Dollar General store in Baroda Township is holding a grand opening Saturday.
Dollar General’s newest store is at 9620 Cleveland Ave. and will be host to an 8 a.m. grand opening that will include prizes and special deals.
Additionally, the first 50 adult shoppers at the store on Saturday will get a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag with complementary product samples, among other giveaways.
“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, said in a news release. “We hope our area customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”
Dollar General stores normally include a focused selection of national name brands and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health products.
Baroda Township Clerk Wendie Shafer said township officials learned Dollar General would come to the area about a year ago.
The store, which opened Nov. 30, was built on a previously vacant lot.
Seasonal products will be displayed in the center of the store.
Traditional Dollar General stores employ about six to 10 people.
