BENTON TOWNSHIP - The Berrien County Historical Association and Mary's City of David plans an event titled "The Summer of 1936: A Day in the Life at the Colony."

Slated for June 2, the tour, which is a combined fundraiser for the colony and historical association, is aimed at giving participants an idea of colony life in the 1930s. Events range from a lunch in an authentic communal, Depression-era setting to a talk that colony founder Mary Purnell might have given.
