DOWAGIAC — Three major projects are moving forward after action this week by the Dowagiac City Council. Council members approved the purchase of property near Dowagiac Union High School, applied for a $2.6 million grant to fund sewer system improvements, and set a public hearing for a new housing program.

City Manager Kevin Anderson reported that the city is buying the former ICG property off Paul Street from the Chicago-based Michigan Other Industrial company for $150,000. The bulk of the property is located between the high school and the high school football field on Paul Street.
