Midwife on a mission

St. Joseph resident Megan Danielson, outside the InterCare Community Health clinic in Benton Harbor, where she is a certified nurse midwife. She has been recognized by the Migrant Clinicians Network as one of its 30 Clinicians Making a Difference for her work providing care to pregnant migrant farm workers. Danielson, who is fluent in Spanish, said Van Buren, Berrien and Allegan counties have some of the highest populations of migrant workers in Michigan, but they face barriers to receiving health care.

Megan Danielson, a certified nurse midwife, believes that "Lo que bien empieza, bien acaba."

In Spanish that means "What starts well, ends well."
