HARTFORD — A Hartford man who police say drove through farm fields in an attempt to flee from deputies earlier this week faces a myriad of charges, while his female passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment after police said she ingested methamphetamine.

Police said the car chase began around 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, when Van Buren County sheriff’s deputies stopped a Ford Explorer, driven by 19-year-old Chase Porter, at the intersection of 62nd Street and County Road 687 in Hartford Township.
