Hartford police and Berrien County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating arsons that gutted a business and scorched a roadside park.
The Dollar General on Main Street in Hartford is almost a total loss after a fire early Tuesday morning, officials say.
No accelerant was detected, but the fire spread too fast to be accidental, moving from cardboard boxes behind the building to the building, the Hartford Fire Department reported. The ceiling was destroyed by the fire and water and smoke damaged a lot of the product.
There is a $5,000 reward for information about the fire. Hartford police do not have any suspects at this time, but are looking at video from nearby security cameras.
