DOWAGIAC — Two people were arrested on drug charges and warrants after police performed a parole check in Dowagiac on Thursday.
Cass County Drug Enforcement Team detectives, along with Michigan Department of Corrections agents went to a residence in the 500 block of North Front Street where, as they approached the house, one person tried to flee out a second story window but then came down without incident.
Two people, one of whom was on parole, were detained while detectives and agents searched the house. Detectives found several items of paraphernalia for the use of methamphetamine and marijuana.
The person on parole, a 38-year-old man, was arrested on a parole violation along with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The second person, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on several unrelated warrants.
The men’s names are being withheld pending arraignment. The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team and MDOC agents were assisted at the scene by the Dowagiac Police Department.
