Food service directors turn to less 'cost-effective' sources

Food shortages across the state are making school food service directors scramble to keep students fed.

Pam Greiffendorf, food service director for Lakeshore schools, said in this past week, 150 of the 500 items she ordered from Gordon Food Service in Grand Rapids were out of stock.
