ST. JOSEPH — Beginning in April it will be easier for people with a criminal record to get more convictions set aside.

But Michigan’s new expungement laws, wrapped in a package of bills called the Clean Slate Package, is complicated. The legislation was passed and signed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer earlier this year and will take effect April 11.
