BENTON HARBOR — Stagnant funding and rising costs have lead to a crisis that isn’t felt until someone is having a health emergency.

Emergency medical services (EMS) around the state and country are experiencing an ever-growing concern that they won’t be able to respond when an emergency arises.


EMS services across the country are facing higher costs as well as staff shortages.
