ST. JOSEPH — The Southwest Michigan housing market appears to finally be taking a breather from two years of record-breaking home prices.

In August, sales dropped 19 to 20 percent compared to last year at this time, for the second month in a row. Additionally, selling prices declined slightly, a first in 2021.
