Larry Lee 'Uncle Larry' Harden
Larry Lee “Uncle Larry” Harden, 70, of Benton Harbor made his transition to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 5, 2019.
A service celebrating his life will be held Friday, June 14, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Benton Harbor. The visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. Those wishing to sign the guest book online may do so at www.robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Larry, along with his twin brother, Harry, was born July 25, 1948, in Benton Harbor, to the late Andrew and Carrie Harden. He was a loving, kind and caring person who would help anyone in need. Larry’s favorite pastimes were detailing and working on cars, riding bikes and hanging out with family and friends. He retired from General Motors of Lansing and later operated his own business, “Larry’s Car Wash.” On Feb. 20, 2009, Larry met and married the true love of his life, Katherine Wimberly.
Larry leaves precious memories in the hearts of his wife, Katherine Wimberly-Harden; sons, Larry “Kip” Banks Sr., Larry Harden Jr., Antonio Wimberly and Arthur Herndon; special children, Lenar, Jawearia, Cindy and Darchelle Beasley; sister, Beulah Batiest; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Carrie; brothers, Willie Harden, Harry Harden and Ozell Baker; sisters, Sue Harden, Ethel Williams and Annie Lee Grey; and nephews, Andrew Harden Jr. and James Allen.
