Robert L. 'Bob' Poziwilko
Robert L. “Bob” Poziwilko, 89, of St. Joseph passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Benton Harbor, Refreshing Fountains Church of Benton Harbor or the charity of your choice. Bob was born on Jan. 15, 1930, in Benton Harbor, to James and Laurel (Badgley) Poziwilko. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. Bob worked in the construction industry for more than 60 years. He was a partner in Superior Home Builders established in 1960, later known as Superior Builders, Inc., and currently known as Superior Property Management. Superior Builders was responsible for the development and construction of numerous subdivisions, apartment complexes and condominiums in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren County – including Lake Pines Apartments, The Shores Apartments, Camelot Condominiums and Sunset Shores Condominiums.
Bob had many passions in his life including becoming a pilot, traveling, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears.
Bob is survived by his children, Elizabeth “Beth” (Joseph) Poziwilko-Wharton of Stevensville and Chalet Sturgeon of St. Joseph; grandchildren: Cody Sturgeon, Nathan Sturgeon, April Thomas and Rebecca Dittmer; great-grandchild, Raylan Thomas; siblings: Yvonne Post, Eugene (Linda) Poziwilko, Patrick (Shirley) Poziwilko and Jerry “Dan” Poziwilko; and sister-in-law, JoAnne Poziwilko.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and Laurel Poziwilko; son, Ronald Poziwilko; and brother, Donald Poziwilko.
