Ronald 'Scott' Claeys
Ronald “Scott” Claeys, 60, of Stevensville went home to be with his Savior on Monday, July 1, 2019, at his residence, with his loving family by his side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July, 12, at Oakridge Community Church in St. Joseph, with Pastors John Poole and Scott Reeve officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Purely Cremations – Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremations Services, 926-9440. Scott was born Dec. 2, 1958, in South Bend, Ind., to Ronald and Jacqueline (Shade) Claeys. Scott graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1977 and attended Purdue University. He pursued a career in mechanical maintenance in nuclear facilities, including Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman. Scott married his wife of 26 years, Michelle Lee Ahrens, on April 23, 1993, in St. Joseph.
Scott enjoyed watching Notre Dame sports, professional baseball and golf and was a huge fan of The Three Stooges. In his spare time, he listened to all types of music, gardened and cared for his pets. Most of all, Scott loved spending time with his family and sharing his great sense of humor with everyone he met.
Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle; son, Nathan Claeys of Mishawaka, Ind.; daughters, Bailee (Will) Jansma of DeMotte, Ind., and Kersten Claeys of Stevensville; sister, Chris (Don) Vellucci of Mishawaka; and brother, Charles (Gwen) Claeys of Granger, Ind.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
